A History of the Journal

Paul Poulsen went to live with his oldest son, James Paul and his family for the last six years of his life. He brought a cupboard containing his personal possessions and hung it in James’s house. James Paul died in 1937. In 1963, Marie Anna Ogden Poulsen died (Leo’s Mother). At that time Leo moved the cupboard out to his shop.  In 1986, Leo found his Grandfather’s journal in the cupboard. Leo gave the journal to his granddaughter, Laura Smith in 1991.
